we all experience brokenness.
we are all susceptible to pain.
far too often we let it overwhelm us.
or we numb ourselves to it.
the former is restrictive and leaves us incomplete.
the latter puts vain effort into appearing functional
yet leaves us an embittered shell of who we once were.
there is hope. there is reparation.
there is peace that is far beyond our understanding.
at a point when devastation and brokenness seemed to
overtake my time, energy, and life in general,
the pain grew into a reminder to view myself
through a lens of truth: as salvageable.
continue to turn towards Jesus.
no guarantee for changed circumstances.
no promise of a particular outcome.
but the assurance that everything would be ok.
that God doesn't waste bad things but desires to grow us despite them.
this is more than wishful thinking.
more than any amount of self-convincing is capable of producing.
this is love, expressed to the deepest depths of who we are.
this is the Rebuilder, making something beautiful
from the debris of what remains.
